Hidden Gems - Chaos Walking

We've got an amazing range of YA fiction as part of Undercover this year, but we've also got a fantastic range of YA books that were published in previous years, and we also want to shout about them.

If you haven't read any of the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness, you're missing out. Here are just a few snippets of the accolades the trilogy has received.

"We are convinced that this is a major achievement in the making." Costa Prize Judges

"I would press Patrick Ness's Chaos Walking trilogy urgently on anyone, anyone at all. It is extraordinary." The Guardian

"Chaos Walking is remarkable." The Times

"Furiously paced, terrifying, exhilarating and heart-breaking, it's a book that haunts your imagination." Sunday Telegraph

The first book, The Knife of Never Letting Go, won the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize and the Booktrust Teenage Prize. The Ask and the Answer won the Costa Children's Book Award, and the concluding book, Monsters of Men, is currently shortlisted not only for the Carnegie Medal, but also for the Arthur C Clarke Award, and it's only the second YA novel to ever be included in the shortlist. The winner is announced next Wednesday and we have everything crossed...

Take a look at our trailer for Monsters of Men (don't worry, there aren't any spoilers if you haven't read the other books!) below. There are a number of other behind the scenes videos at www.youtube.com/monstersofmen, and you can also read the first chapter of The Knife of Never Letting Go.
